Who am I?

Alex Preston is a Graphic Designer based in Whistler, Canada.

Alex enjoys mountain biking, skiing, drawing, photography, making and listening to heaps of music. He once jumped off the roof of my cubby house with only an umbrella and managed to pull it off without breaking any bones. He is fluent in Japanese, and lived in Kanagawa for about a year and a half. He quite likes super spicy food, but only every now and then, and only if there is plenty of water nearby. His favourite colour is blue (duh) and his favourite food is Calbee Pizza Potato Chips.

He loves solving design and communication problems and has a lot of experience in doing so. He’s created a diverse range of visual communication solutions such as websites, advertisements, magazines, posters, logos, maps, book covers and many more. His favourite projects are featured in his portfolio.

Good work takes time.

To achieve a great result in any work that I do, I take my time. Generating original and effective ideas doesn’t happen instantly. Through hard work and an iterative design process, the ideal design solution will be found, but it doesn’t happen overnight.

My Values

Excellence in simplicity.

The simpler a design, the more elegant it is. Honing a solution down to the absolute core of its essence is a difficult process, it requires an innate understanding of the problem, and how to solve it perfectly, in the clearest and most beautiful manner.

Earth first.

I am strong supporter of environmentalism and ecological sustainability. In my practice I strive to work with organisations and companies that uphold similar values towards preserving the beautiful planet we all live on for future generations to enjoy.

A socially responsible future.

When I do business with my clients, I ensure that they see the same goal for the future as I do. A fair future for all, equality, friendship and tolerance. A future that we can help mould so that the world which our children will inherit is a good one.
