Scouts Australia New Program Branding

Background: Scouts Australia approached me to develop concepts for the rebranding of their new youth program, “One Program, Five Sections”. The program aims to provide a seamless and inclusive experience for all members, ranging from the youngest Joeys section (6-8 years old) to the oldest Rovers section (18-25 years old).

Challenge: The main challenge was to create a design system that would appeal to a wide range of age groups and be inclusive to all members. The designs needed to be clear, inviting, and friendly, while also being easily recognizable and memorable.

Solution: I developed a system of icons that could be used across the different sections of the program, each with its own unique characteristics and colours. The icons were designed to be simple and easy to understand, yet still engaging and visually appealing.

Results: The new design system was well received by Scouts Australia and has been implemented across all materials for the “One Program, Five Sections” program. The icons have become easily recognizable and have helped to increase brand awareness among the youth members. They have been used on challenge badges that the Scouts earn. The program has received positive feedback from members, parents, and leaders. The new design system has also helped to foster a sense of community and belonging among the youth members, regardless of their age or section.

I am proud of the results we achieved and are happy to have been a part of Scouts Australia's efforts to provide a more inclusive and engaging experience for all of its youth members.
